3 Ways to wear Leather Trousers

Published on 24 June 2020 at 13:10

Happy wednesday everyone!

It's been a hot minute since I did a fashion post so here we are. It's the hottest day of the year, so not really the best time to post about leather trousers, but we'll persevere.

I have always loved the leather trousers look but i've never really been able to pull off the skinny leather look. I end up looking like a stuffed sausage (food always wins over a thigh gap for me so they're never going to work!) and I feel like I recreate the Iconic Ross bathroom scene from friends when I try to get them off.

I found these particular beauties in Primark and they are the perfect leather trousers. They are tapered so you don't get those awful bunchy lines and you don't end up over heating. They're a high waisted paper bag style which is flattering on everyone and they go with absolutely everything. I've chosen three of my favourite ways to wear them to share with you.

night out glam

Leather trousers are the perfect upgrade for 'Jeans and a nice top'.

They are effortlessly stylish and give your outfit an added element of glam.

I'e teamed them with my trusty sequin vest top that I got from ASOS about 6 years ago. It's great for the rare nights out, evenings at the pub and it seen me through a couple of New years eves.

The boots are my 'pretty woman' burgundy latex boots from Public desire. They are so comfy and nice and easy to walk in with the block heel. I always think a pointed toe makes me look taller. This is probably not true but a girl can dream!

If you were wearing this on an evening like we'll no doubt have tonight, a pair of sandals would look equally as cute and you won't get sweaty feet!

work and play

If I worked in an office, I'd like to think this is the kind of outfit I'd be wearing.

These trousers are so versatile, and they are definitely smart enough to wear for work.

I'm a big fan of bold prints so I've teamed them with this leopard print blouse from Topshop. This was a bit of an impulse buy yesterday. Topshop are doing buy one get one free on sale, so I got this and a midi skirt for £15! Definitely didn't need them but I have no will power!

If you're not a fan of bright and bold, or you work in a place where this might not be right for work, a simple white shirt would look really nice and crisp too.

The blazer is another Primark staple of mine. It's linen so it's nice and cool and the colour goes with everything.

The shoes are from ASOS. They are actually the black version of my wedding heels. I loved them so much I had to buy them in another colour. Though I won't lie, they are seriously uncomfortable, as Simon's best man will tell you after he had to walk back to the house after our ceremony to get me a change of shoes! But they don't half look nice!

EVERYDAY CASUAL

Leather isn't just for dressing up! They look so cool as a casual outfit too.

I got this tshirt when we saw Mumford and Sons in Paris last year. A band tee looks effortlessly cool with leather trousers and in my case, makes me look much cooler than I actually am. You can get all sorts of cool graphic tee's that would look great with them. My favourite shop for them at the moment is 'Made In Snetty', a local brand that make awesome slogan tee's.

I've teamed it with my trusty converse (that have seen better days) and my head scarf, which is actually a bath bomb holder from lush. They make perfect headbands because they're not too long and they have so many gorgeous prints!

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!

Until next time,

Just Lucy Jane x
