Welcome back- thank you for sticking with me!
The look I’m talking about today is the ULTIMATE denim shorts. They’re probably one of my favourite things I own. These are from a brand called Collectif which was introduced to me by my friend Alice when we were visiting Camden Market and I've been hooked ever since. If you’ve never heard of Collectif before, they specialise in Vintage clothing, focusing on the pin up style of the 1950’s and classic hollywood.
Everything I’ve ever bought from there has been so comfortable and extremely flattering. A lot of their stuff is high waisted which is perfect if you have a small waist and bigger hips like me. They have some really cool patterns and Applique designs too so if you’re in to vintage fashion definitely check them out. (I’d say even if you’re not, still do because a lot of their items have a modern twist)
These shorts always make me feel great when I wear them. They are a really good fit and have the cutest detailing on the back. Personally I prefer to wear them with tops tucked in, but if you’d prefer something baggier they’d still look great. This particular style have sold out online, but the Lily denim shorts (£27.50) are a similar fit.

My favourite way to wear these is with the Winnie top in red from Banned Retro (£23.99) It comes in 8 different colour ways so there’s something to suit everyone. I really love the off the shoulder look, it always makes me feel like I’m glow up Sandy in grease!
I’ve paired it with a cropped cardigan, again from Collectif. I find you tend to loose the shape of high waisted bottoms with a longer cardigan so a cropped one falls just right. This style is the aptly named Lucy Cardigan and they do it in so many different prints (typically £42-£45) I got this from the collective website and the other two items from a vintage shop in Norwich called Lady B loves which is definitely worth checking out if you’re there. (Instagram: ladybloves) They play the BEST music and have such lovely staff. They also have a space upstairs that they turn into a tiki beauty bar and have a seamstress there weekly too.

The second look is more casual but equally as cute. I love it with this cropped stripy top from Topshop. The reds match up well and I love the contrast of the prints. It’s also got a really fun graphic print that's a little bit cheeky which fits in with the look nicely in my opinion. This was bought last year but they're always doing sweet cropped tee's- at the moment there's some very cool ones with little applique animals on!
Until next time,
Just Lucy Jane x
