Nomad and The Bowerbird (Staithe Street, Wells-Next-The-Sea) is a colourful paradise of quirky, unique pieces that owner Sarah has discovered on her travels.
The shop itself is asthetically beautiful, with three individual rooms of eye catching dresses, unusual homeware and funky accesories. I can't walk in to this shop without buying something. Sarah has a background in Fashion and styling, and every item has been carefully hand picked by her. If you're looking for something special that you will treasure for years to come, this is the place!
If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen many of my outfits are from Nomad, and I'm going to talk about some of my favourites and the brands that Sarah has introduced me to which have now become wardrobe staples.
Sixton London

Sixton London were the first brand I brought from Nomad and the brand that started my love of Vintage Clothing. They are a british brand, based in Brixton and all of their inspiration comes from the local area (and David Bowie apparently!)
Their dresses fit beautifully, sinching in at the waist which is always a win for me. I love all of their prints, they're bright, quirky and individual and really versatile. I have worn mine to lots of formal events, but also for days out at the beach.
Devastatingly they have now moved away from clothing, but their accesories are just as good. They are now most well known for their eclectic jewellery, embellished socks and bug brooches (with £1 from each sale going to the Buglife organisation.)
Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a present that's a bit different.
Louche

Louche is another brand that I completely adore. They are a British Brand based in London, and everything is designed in house in their London studios.
Their clothing is modern in design with a clear vintage twist, making them timeless and unique. You'll notice once again that the dresses sinch in at the waist. This is such a flattering and comfortable design that will suit many shapes.
I also love the prints they choose, each one striking and conversational. They also pretty much always add pockets to their dresses so you can't go wrong. A dress with pockets can't be beaten.
They also do some really cool accesories. I've shared a picture of my all time favourite lemon scarf which I use as a headband above.
Emily and fin

Emily and Fin are a colourful, creative brand with the most eye catching prints.
They started out selling in Portobello Market and have since moved to their London Studio where they design and develop all of their pieces . They are both avid travellers and would take their sketch pads with them to far away places for inspiration.
What I really love about this brand is they still use traditional methods like draping. (Positioning and pinning the fabric onto the dress form to create the pattern.) This makes each piece feel really special and personal.
This Swan jumper is one of my favourite purchases ever!
paddywax candles

The last brand I want to talk about is Paddywax candles.
If you're a candle lover and you've never tried them, you absolutely have to. They are hands down the best candles I have ever owned (and I've owned A LOT).
Paddywax are a Nashville company that make beautiful artisan hand poured soy candles. You'll notice that a lot of Nomad's brands are American if you visit them in store or online. Sarah and her husband Martin regularly travel to America and a lot of their inspiration has stemmed from there.
What I love most about Paddywax is the scents. They are just right, not so strong that they over power your senses, but strong enough that you can actually smell them (don't you just hate it when a candle smells so good, and then you get nothing when you burn it).
I also love the design of their containers. Each one is like a beautiful piece of art in it's own right and they have lots of different styles to choose from so there's something to suit everyone.
My favourite is the relish collection (as you can probably tell) in particular the Gardenia and Tuberose which just smells like heaven!
They have a price range from £9-£27 but they last for so long that they are 100% worth the investment.
my website top picks
Whilst the shop is shut at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic their online shop is very much still open, and they are offering 25% off all clothing! It is also free delivery when you spend over £50.
Sarah and Martin also own Bringing the Outside in (Wells-Next-The-Sea) and Ocotillo in Holkham which have some incredible homewear pieces (and so many plants, it's like a jungle haven!) so they are definitely worth checking out too.
This pandemic is going to hit our high street hard, inparticular independant brands so it's so important we keep supporting them during this difficult time.
Below I've selected my top picks from the website at the moment, but there's so many beautiful things on there to discover it's definitely worth a look.

Louche London Avril Midi dress £69

Camelia resin Hexagon Earrings in Rainbow £14

Emily and Fin Medina Cat Jumper £93
