Happy Saturday everyone!
Today I'm going to talk a little about my hair care routine, because anyone who has ever dyed their hair any form of red will know it's an absolute pig to look after!
I am a natural blonde so keeping my red looking vibrant is a daily struggle but I think I have finally cracked it with these products.
To dye my hair I use Caca Rouge Henna from Lush. I haven't quite got the hang of using it without destroying my bathroom yet but when I do I will do a seperate blog post about this, but so far it's definitely the best product I've tried.
I use three different shampoo's on my hair. I know this may sound excessive, but I find if I just use one type of shampoo until I've finished the bottle, my hair stops seeing the benefits after a few washes so I like to alternate.
john frieda- radiant red

John Frieda's Radiant red shampoo and conditioner are the one's I use most and have been an absolute godsend for my hair!
I tend to use this every other wash to keep me hair looking vibrant. I've run out without realising before and have really noticed a difference. (currently have 3 sets of this in my bathroom because I'm not taking any chances!)
The conditioner deposits colour (so don't use it if you don't have red hair!) Whilst it's not a hair dye, it does replenish my colour and give it a noticeable boost. I shampoo and then leave the conditioner in for 10 minutes (pop on a face mask whilst you wait) and I'm left with a brighter red tone.
The pomegranate extract and Vitamin E leave my hair feeling super soft and moisturised too.
I buy mine from Boots, and they pretty much always have 3 for 2 offers on John Frieda so it's really affordable.
Function of beauty

When I'm not using radiant red, I alternate washes between function of beauty and Kerastase. These are two more expensive brands so this just makes them last that little bit longer.
I first heard of Function of Beauty when I stayed with my friend Alice and had forgotten my shampoo. She let me borrow hers and I really liked it.
Function of Beauty are an online beauty brand where you can personalise your product to your hair needs. You start by taking a hair quiz to determine what you want out of your shampoo.
They ask you question about the condition, length, and what results you want from a shampoo (you can opt for silicone free if you wish) and they make your shampoo based on your quiz results to give you the best shampoo for you (pretty cool, huh?)
Once you've done this, you can choose the colour of your shampoo and the scent. I went for orange this time and I have the peach scent which is amazing! You can choose how strong the scent is so if you're not a fan of strongly scented shampoos they've got you covered with that too.
Another thing I absolutely love is that you can name your shampoo. You might be able to see that mine says 'Function of Lucy' but you can choose anything you want. They also come with stickers so you can personalise your bottles even more.
They also sell personalised serums, hair masks and leave in conditioners. I've tried the serum and really liked it but have yet to try the others.
Other things to mention about this brand is they are sulfate and paraben free, vegan and cruelty free.
I won't pretend they are cheap- it's £29 for 8oz and £39 for 16oz, but as I don't use mine every wash I find they last a long time.
Kerastase- resistance range

Kerastase are the brand I've used the longest, ever since I tried to bleach my own hair and killed it!
It's the holy grail of shampoos and I am completely obsessed with it.
Kerastase do all sorts of shampoo ranges, from colour treated, sun damamged, and blonde specific but for me, the resistance bain architecture range is unbeatable.
It's designed to restore fine, weak and brittle hair and fight against signs of damage whilst making it stronger and more resilient.
This really does work wonders and you can feel the difference after just one wash. It has rescued my hair many a time when I've had serious hair blunders.
It is a bit of a splurge product so I tend to only use it once a week, or when my hair is in need of some TLC. I always buy mine from Gorgeous Shop. They have some good discounts and you can buy multi packs. A Multi pack of shampoo and conditioner is £36 at the moment. It's a lot to spend on shampoo but it is well worth the money.
Kerastase Elixir Ultime is a leave in hair oil and heat protecter. It comes in lots of different scents but I don't think you can beat the original. It's great for concealing split ends and frizz control and leaves my hair silky smooth and smelling amazing.
It's the only Oil I've ever used that doesn't make my hair look greasy after using it. I put it on when I get out of the shower but you can also use it on dry hair without having that horrible oily look you often get from these types of products.
You only need to use a little bit so it lasts a long time. This is £37 on gorgeous shop at the moment.
Wishing you all a happy hair day!
Until next time,
Just Lucy Jane x
